When teaching pre-school children, we are not just teaching English. We are nuturing the whole child to grow their emotional, creative, mathematical and physical abilities. Pre-schoolers are still experiencing learning as opposed to formally learning, so our learning environment should be positive, fun and active. This webinar looks at principles of teaching very young learners, using their own world and the world around them, plus using stories, songs and projects to teach English, whilst developing their values, collaboration skills and building confidence, too.

Starting out as a graduate of German and English Linguistics and an English language teacher in the UK and Germany, Andy has been in ELT publishing and training for 30 years, working in over 40 countries. Passionate about creative ELT materials and motivating teaching professionals, Andy is known for enthusiastic and practical talks, encouraging teachers to try new ideas, and connecting language learning with the real world. He is a specialist in Extensive Reading and in building positive reading cultures and systems in schools globally.
